FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY IS THERE A WAITING LIST?

There is a waiting list due to the number of people attempting to access our services.

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WHILE I AM WAITING TO GET IN?

There are a variety of things that you can do while you are waiting to get in.  It is recognized that the majority of the time, people continue to drink/use while they are waiting for admission to detox.  For some drugs, particularly alcohol, it is dangerous to stop drinking abruptly.

WHILE YOU ARE WAITING

  • You can do your best to try and cut down a little, and "maintenance drink or use".
  • You can talk to your Addictions Counsellor if you have one.
  • You can call your local Crisis Line if you feel that you are in a crisis.
  • If you feel very ill, and/or are concerned about your medical or mental health status, seek treatment immediately at your nearest hospital emergency room or clinic.
